Odell Beckham Jr. Says Officials Warned Him He Would Be Thrown Out For Any Transgressions

Odell Beckham Jr. told reporters immediately following the Giants’ 29-27 loss to the Redskins that he was warned that any transgression, even his first one, would lead to him being thrown out of the game, Steve Politi of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The NFL has a new rule this season that two personal fouls in a game will lead to an automatic ejection, but the Giants receiver said he was informed that it would be one-and-done for him.

“They implemented a new rule this year,” Beckham said. “Basically, I think it was the Odell Beckham Jr. rule. I had three personal fouls last year, and they said, if you come out, you get one personal foul and you (are ejected) if you get another one for the same.

“Today, they came up before the game and said, ‘If you do anything we’re throwing you out of the game.’ That was before the game. There was no, ‘You get a warning.’ There wasn’t any of that. You’ve just got to be on your best behavior. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve come to. It’s not really football any more as much as it is all of the other things that play into it.”
