Giants Interview Former Panthers GM Dave Gettleman for GM Opening

The Giants on Wednesday interviewed Dave Gettleman to be their next general manager, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Gettleman, a 30-year NFL veteran who spent four seasons as the Carolina Panthers’ GM and 15 as a personnel executive in the Giants organization, becomes the second candidate to interview for the Giants GM job.

Marc Ross, the Giants’ VP of player evaluation, interviewed on Monday with co-owner John Mara and former Giants GM and search consultant Ernie Accorsi. And then Ross met Tuesday with co-owner Steve Tisch.

Gettleman, 66, interviewed with Mara, Tisch, and Accorsi, who is consulting with the franchise on the selection process. Gettleman joined the Giants in 1998, which was Accorsi’s first season as general manager.
