Giants Chatting with Interim GM Kevin Abrams About the Permanent GM Job

The Giants will interview interim general manager Kevin Abrams for the permanent position on Friday according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

Abrams was given the title of interim GM when Jerry Reese was fired earlier this month. He has been with the organization the past 16 years as the Giants’ chief salary cap man and contract negotiator. Abrams joins fellow in-house candidate Marc Ross as candidates for the job, while ex-Panthers GM and former longtime Giants executive Dave Gettleman was also interviewed this week and is considered the frontrunner for the job.

Louis Riddick of ESPN has been the only known candidate outside the organization to be interviewed for the job. Many observers believe the Giants are in need of new blood and new ideas after Reese’s 11-year tenure but Giants ownership apparently does not agree.
