The Kansas City Chiefs have released Amani Toomer, ending the veteran receiver’s short-lived stint with the team.
Toomer signed with Kansas City on Aug. 4 after spending his first 13 seasons with the Giants. He never made much of an impact, spending most of the preseason working with the second and third teams.

Former Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer has finally found a new home.
The 34-year-old owner of many of the Giants’ receiving records signed today with the Kansas City Chiefs. That means he’ll get a shot at his old teammates in Week 4, when the Giants visit Kansas City on Oct. 4.
Toomer had a respectable [...]

From Ralph Vacchiano:

Is Amani Toomer close to finding a new home in Chicago?
Maybe. Maybe not.
There was a report on the NFL Network yesterday that said the Chicago Bears had placed a call to Toomer’s representatives and could be interested in signing the former Giants receiver. But not so fast, says the Chicago Tribune, which reports [...]

The Giants threw a lot of money at Plaxico Burress back in September, locking up a troublesome receiver who now may never play for them again. Yet they haven’t shown a willingness yet to re-sign Amani Toomer, one of the greatest (and trouble-free) receivers they’ve ever had. So far, according to a source [...]

No Plax. No Problem. That’s certainly going to be a theme in most papers tomorrow. But it proved true once again.
From the get go, on this cold, rainy day in Washington, it was apparent that it was going to be business as usual for the defending Super Bowl Champions. With RB Brandon Jacobs back in [...]

No one can ever say the Giants don’t make it interesting. Today at the Meadowlands, the champions went to 3-0, but it wasn’t easy, as they went to overtime before finally topping a game Bengals team from Cincy 26-23. The game-winner came in OT as John Carney nailed a 22-yard field goal for [...]

Wide out stories continue to be the thing at Giants camp, as today’s New York Post is reporting that the team is getting a bit testy when it comes to the quad injury that has kept rookie Mario Manningham from making any sort of impact so far in camp.  The story today is that Manningham’s [...]

The Giants have another wide out on the sidelines, as veteran Amani Toomer missed practice today with swelling in his left leg. The team is already without Plaxico Burress, who is still trying to get his ankle back up to speed. Also missing the workout today was WR Steve Smith, who had general soreness. [...]

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin is getting more and more irate with the absence of wide out Plaxico Burress. The former Steelers wide reciever has not practiced since August 2nd, and with one of his backups, Sinorice Moss, also likley out with the same injury, the Giants passing game could be in stall [...]

The Giants are loving what they are seeing so far from second round pick wide reciever Steve Smith.  The former USC wide out has done all that has been asked of him so far this training camp, and looks as if he is going to push for some serious playing time once the regular season [...]
