Michael Johnson placed on IR

New York Giants’ safety Michael Johnson was placed on injured reserve today with a herniated disc (back). Johnson’s 2010 season is now over. This according to Giants PR guy Pat Hanlon. Johnson was a big contributor as a rookie to the 07′ super bowl team. With Johnson now on IR, this makes two safeties for […]

Barden, Ross and Johnson injured, Rashad and Ware getting better

WR Ramses Barden has a stress fracture of a transverse process, S Michael Johnson has a disc issue and CB Aaron Ross has plantar fasciitis. (Eli) Manning suffered the same injury as Ross last year, but did not miss anytime but was limited in his first action afterward. Barden and Johnson missed the Steelers game […]

Salary Odds And Ends

Mike Garafolo breaks down some changes in salary for some players: Looking over the contract numbers on the NFLPA web site, I see three players who have received hefty pay raises for the upcoming season, most likely due to their hitting playing time and/or performance escalators in their contract. One of them is TE Kevin […]

Ranking The Giants: Secondary

We continue to Rank The Giants, with this edition focusing on the secondary. Oh, the secondary. To be fair, this unit had a LOT of injuries. Had they been healthy, who knows, it might have been a strength. But, they didn’t stay healthy, and we were stuck with a patchwork secondary. I’m feeling harsh, so […]

Westbrook Out: It’s Official

PFT broke this news moments ago, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about it. Brian Westbrook will not play Sunday against the Gaints. Here is the bad news though: Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who missed last week’s game with a concussion, is listed as probable and has practiced all week, while […]

Snee and Johnson Practice

Chris Snee (knee) and Michael Johnson (groin) saw limited practice time, according to Ralph Vacchiano. Ahmad Bradshaw did not practice, but that’s so he can practice Friday. And DJ Ware said he should be available against the Iggles.

Practice Update

DJ Ware, Travis Beckum practiced, while Chris Snee and Michael Johnson did not, according to Matt Mosley. I think Snee will play. No idea on Johnson, although it looks like it will be a game-time decision. Get well soon, guys.

Per many New York media reports it looks line the Osi Umenyiora and Fred Robbins have been sent to the bench.   It appears that defensive end Osi Umenyiora and defensive tackle Fred Robbins have been benched in favor of end Mathias Kiwanuka and tackle Chris Canty. Kiwanuka and Canty were working with the first team […]
