Rashad Barksdale was in his hometown of Hudson on Friday night. As he watched his younger brother play baseball, Barksdale received a text message from a New York Giants teammate.
Make that a former teammate.
“I heard you got released,” Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas wrote to Barksdale. “Sorry about that.”

Giants Sign Former Chiefs CB Barksdale to Their Practice Squad

Cornerback Rashad Barksdale is going from being waived by the Chiefs to the practice squad of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Barksdale, released in the Chiefs’ final cutdown, signed with New York on Monday. He played in six games last season for Kansas City and was inactive for the other 10 games.
