Giants Secondary Is #1:

Today I was participating in this weeks upcoming roundtable discussion when I realized something.  The Giants very young and thin secondary is currently number one in the NFL.  Despite having just enough healthy bodies, the Giants are leading the NFL in pass defense, allowing 124.0 passing yards per game. They have five interceptions, one returned for […]

Sha’Reef Rashad Is Impressing

Mike Garafolo has a great article on UDFA Sha’Reef Rashad: Sha’reef Rashad had the deep half of the field in a Cover-2 defense, so any long ball was his for the taking. Rashad claimed later he didn’t even see the receiver (Otis Lewis), just the ball, so he went up and got it for the […]

Evans Has Giant Shot At Defensive Line:

From Ralph Vacchiano: Maurice Evans (48) is seeking redemption and is trying to latch on with the Giants. Maurice Evans swears he doesn’t think much about what could have been in his life, but it had to be on his mind at least a little on draft day when the Buffalo Bills made Aaron Maybin […]

More Free Agent signings?

Update: (11:30 EST) Jeremy Fuchs here.  It appears that the signings below are actually signings of the Chargers. There must have been a mixup when Big Blue Blog found these. We apologize for the confusion.   I found these on Big Blue Blog (there’s a link a little down and on the right) But […]

Giants Agree to Deal With Bruce Johnson

According to Mike Garafolo, the Giants have signed cornerback Bruce Johnson as an undrafted free agent. Johnson, from Miami (FL), has great speed, has experience in the return game, but has a very slight frame. It was a surprise that he wasn’t drafted. The Giants could be getting a steal.

Giants Sign Dwayne Hendricks As Undrafted Free Agent

The Giants signed Defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks from Miami (Fl.), according to Mike Garafolo. Hendricks, raised in New Jersey, was a top recruit out of high school, but never lived up t that potential. Hendricks plays with a nasty demeanor, but doesn’t play with that all the time. He’ll have a tough time making the roster. […]

Undrafted Free Agents

And we’re off to the races for undrafted free agents. We reported last night one signing a CB, Vince Anderson out of a small school Anderson is a 6’2” Defensive Back (I’ll say it again, the Giants obviously prefer big, tall, strong CB opposed to short, shifty, fast Cornerbacks) The Giants have also signed (according […]

Dockery re-ups with Giants

From profootballtalk.   With the deadline for signing an offer sheet with a new team coming in four days, Giants cornerback Kevin Dockery has opted to take himself off the market. The one-year, $1.545 million contract means that Dockery will remain with the team for at least another year. The Giants had tendered Dockery at […]

Johnson, Tollefson, Douzable sign Tenders

From NY Daily News: They had no choice, of course, but tight end Darcy Johnson, defensive end Dave Tollefson, and defensive tackle Leger Douzable — three of the Giants’ “exclusive rights free agents” — have signed their tender offers for the 2009 season, the Daily News has learned. Johnson, who was signed by the Giants […]
