Warren Sapp? Or, Warren The Sap?

Warren Sapp? Or Warren, The Sap? By Martin Alvin Good Grief, does the mind-bogging bias ever end? First, it was Giants fans bashing Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning — in spite of the objective facts — and now, it’s Warren Sapp bashing Michael Strahan — also, in spite of the objective facts. And just to […]

Justin Pugh Dry Heaves Before Every Game

I was looking over Justin Pugh’s long list of first year accomplishments just now via Giants.com and what struck me most about his career is how routine oriented he and Chris Snee have been since they began playing football at a high level. Both OL’s puke before each and every game… Wow. Pugh has come […]

Reports Confirm Giants Looking to Add More Veteran Running Backs

That's the 3rd name. Haven't been able to confirm yet. RT @JasonLaCanfora: Also hearing ex-Jet Joe McKnight among group Giants bringing in — Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) September 9, 2013 According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, the Giants are officially bringing in Joe McKnight formerly of the NY Jets, Willis McGahee formerly of the Denver […]

Robert Nunn

I had a few minutes and found what I could about Robert Nunn. Robert Nunn was the defensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played linebacker at Oklahoma State. Nunn joined the Green Bay Packers on February 8, 2005 as a defensive tackles coach, but was let go along with the majority of the […]

More on Fewell

Paul Schwartz of the New York Post had a great article on Perry Fewell.  Here are some select quotes that caught my eye: “If you get out there and consistently make mistakes, he’s going to blow up,” Bills safety George Wilson told The Post. “He doesn’t like repetitive mistakes. He doesn’t like silly mistakes. Hitting […]

Chiefs Cut Amani Toomer:

The Kansas City Chiefs have released Amani Toomer, ending the veteran receiver’s short-lived stint with the team. Toomer signed with Kansas City on Aug. 4 after spending his first 13 seasons with the Giants. He never made much of an impact, spending most of the preseason working with the second and third teams.

Random Thoughts:

Here are some of my early thoughts about the Giants (now remember just one game has been played): The defense is going to be scary good! Some other team will get an excellent defensive lineman after cuts. Sinorice Moss just doesn’t have it The Giants should sign a veteran versitile offensive lineman. Depth, depth and more […]

Jacobs Playing Underdog Card:

From Matt Mosley of ESPN: Giants running back Brandon Jacobs reported for duty Sunday, and he said he’s enjoyed listening to all the doubters. I’m not really one of those doubters, but I guess those folks are out there. Here’s what he had to say about the Giants’ mindset heading into this camp, which could be the […]

Strahan Looks To Break The Mold:

From the New York Daily News: His co-star calls him “a natural,” but soon-to-be sitcom star Michael Strahan says no one should expect Shakespeare from him – yet. “I understand it’s a hard transition,” the former Giants sack king said. “Obviously, my coming from the sports world, we knew we weren’t going to do ‘Othello.’” […]

Giants Institute Player Mentoring Program:

From the New York Times NFL training camps begin next week, and with them the ritual of young players unfamiliar with a world where competition converges with unprecedented compensation and celebrity. For the first time, two N.F.L. teams — the Giants and the Ravens — have instituted player-driven mentorship programs in which rookies are paired with a […]
