Giants-Vikings Prediction

The Giants have nothing to play for. The Vikings have everything to play for. They win, they are in. And with the Giants missing some guys to injury, it seems clear this will go to the Vikes. But we will break it down:

AP all day. That’s the way the Vikes offense goes, through the talents of Adrian Peterson. If the Giants had trouble with DeAngelo Williams and Tashard Choice in recent weeks, they will have a ton of trouble with Peterson. Maybe the Giants only weakness is stopping top running backs. More on that in the defense section. Tarvaris Jackson, at QB, isn’t a big time threat. It’s all about the run.

As far as the Giants are concerned, it’s all about leaving the game with momentum. A few touchdowns, some nice passing plays, can do the trick. But with the Vikings on their last life, look for them to come out with all guns blazing. This goes to the Vikings.

We know the Giants can play defense. But, as we mentioned above, the Giants have had trouble stopping the run. And Peterson is one of the best, if not the best, runner in the game. The Giants are looking to come out of this game with some momentum. And, if they key on Peterson, and lock him down, that’s some great momentum.

The Vikings are 6th in the league in yards allowed, and 13th in the league in points allowed. Not bad numbers. Top player is Chad Greenway, their outside linebacker.  The Giants can beat this defense. It’s a question of how long they keep the starters in. I give this one to the Vikes, only because the Giants will probably rest their starters in the second half.

With the best punter and kicker in the league, the Giants are set. I would like to see Carney get a bit deeper on kick offs

Like I say every week, Tom Coughlin is the class of the NFC, if not the NFL.

Tough one to call. The Giant have nothing to play for. The Vikings have everything. If this was a game in week two, the Giants would win handily. But since this game has the utmost of importance for one team, I’m going to go with the Vikings. Final Score: 28-14, Vikings. Enjoy the game.
