Ahmad Bradshaw Has A Crack In His Foot:

From the Star Ledger:

Ahmad Bradshaw went to see an ankle specialist on Wednesday who told him what the Giants had told him: he’s cleared to keep playing on a cracked bone in his foot.

At least until the end of the season, or until the crack becomes a full-blown fracture – whichever comes first.

“Of course. I know that. It all depends on the bone and how it is in my foot,” Bradshaw said Thursday as he revealed to reporters the full extent of his injury. “I just plan on going out there and giving my all. If it breaks, it does and I’ll get surgery. If not, I’ll wait until the end of the season. Hopefully, then I won’t need it. But more than likely, I’ll plan on having surgery.”

Bradshaw said he has a crack in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. That’s the bone on the outside of the foot, which Bradshaw was told is the easiest bone to break. Bradshaw believes his choppy, “bow-legged” style of running is what caused the injury.

Bradshaw did not say exactly when the injury occurred, though he said it’s “been there since, like, March. Recently, he believed it was merely a bruise on the outside of the foot until X-rays about a month ago revealed the crack. Bradshaw said it doesn’t affect him while he’s playing, as the adrenaline prevents him from feeling any pain. He also said the nagging ankle injury in the same foot is even less of an issue.

“The ankle is here and there,” he said. “It’s an old fracture that was never taken care of. That’s just how it grew over. A couple of bone spurs and loose bones in there and it just heals like that. Other than that, it doesn’t slow me down at all.”

Dr. Robert Anderson, the specialist who examined Bradshaw on Thursday, concurred with the Giants’ plan for the third-year running back over the past couple of weeks.

“Rest and immobilization, treatment, rehab, limited amount of work each week,” coach Tom Coughlin said.

Bradshaw said Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle grabbed his injured foot/ankle right before he fumbled late in Sunday’s loss to Arizona. Bradshaw said Thursday he didn’t believe Rolle made a deliberate attempt to target his injury.

After Sunday’s game, Coughlin pretty much gave Bradshaw a free pass on the fumble when he said he wouldn’t blame a player for giving extra effort. By Thursday, the charitable Coughlin was long gone.

“(Holding the ball) high and tight would have taken care of that,” Coughlin said.

we’ll be in trouble if bradshaw’ gone for even a single game… jacobs’ style of running don’t allow him to play a whole game, and i don’t trust that much on gartrell johnson and danny ware
