Giants Cowboys Halftime Thoughts

After a slow start, the Giants came roaring back to take a 14-10 lead over Dallas at the half.

Good news for Giants fans: Brandon Jacobs is starting to look like himself. Some nice runs so far, both on the inside and outside. He’s not there yet, but he’s starting to look like himself, and that’s a great sign. The pass offense started to pick things up in the second quarter, a very good sign.

Here’s the summary of the Giants defense so far: Strong run defense, awful pass defense. The Dallas running game isn’t going anywhere, but they can pass all day long. A Clint Sintim sack in the red zone probably stops a touchdown. Pass rush has been good, but they haven’t been able to get to Romo as much as I would like. They need to get him on the ground more. Aaron Rouse has been spectacular–his best game as a Giant. Osi Umenyiora recovered a fumble which led to a touchdown.

For the Giants to win, they need to keep doing what they’ve been doing on offense. Keep the passing game going. On defense, continue to bear down and continue to make some big plays. Use the momentum of the end of the first half to your advantage. Keep the pressure on. Giants can win this game. Have to keep the pedal to the medal.
