Tom Coughlin Not Happy With Giants Pass Rush

From Tom Coughlin’s presser today via

Is the pass rush where you’d like it to be?

“No, of course not. How could it be? We didn’t sack the guy the other day. We’re better than that. When we do get there we have to get them in our grasp. We had two or three times the other day where we had the quarterback in our grasp and didn’t quite get it done. “

I don’t think the Giants necessarily need to blitz more to get home, in fact I’d prefer they get it done as the defense is designed — get a central push from the DTs to collapse the pocket and have the DEs crash in on the party. Justin Tuck has to be feeling it at this point. No pressure through 2 games whatsoever. JPP is a shell of himself right now. DaMontre Moore will hopefully start playing some defense to perhaps light a fire under JPP to get back to his dominating ways. If not, I can see Cullen Jenkins, who has played very well at DT, move to DE to try and spark some pass rush.

Right, move C-Jenkins to DE and then lose any chance of collapsing the pocket so QBs like “Big Bro” Peyton and Romo can stand in back of their OL and have enough time to sell theater tickets!!!!
How about trying some middle stunts or getting a better pass rushing DT (like Patterson in there more often).

    • The DT depth we have with Joseph, Hankins, Rodgers, and Patterson — I wouldn’t mind seeing Jenkins slide to DE on passing downs. We haven’t seen ANY rush to speak of… I’d be willing to see anything at this point to get home.
