Dunkin’ Donuts’ “Eli’s Way to Pay” Event a Major Success

IMG_4062On the cold Autumn morning in East Rutherford, New Jersey (temperatures in the low 30’s and snow falling just hours before), the ten winners from the Dunkin’ Donuts Promotion arrived at the the Quest Diagnostics Training Facility to be greeted by the wonderful New York Giants staff, and were directed right into the Giants auditorium, accompanied by several Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisees from around the area, eager for their incredible day to start. The fans were handed out T-Shirts with a large #10 and a “DD” on the front, while the back read “Eli’s Way to Pay Event 11-12-13”, which was to be worn on the field after the entrance of the two-time Super Bowl MVP.

At about 11:15am, Eli Manning entered the auditorium with a resounding round of applause as he took a seat in front of the fans for his Q&A Session with Fox 5’s very own, Duke Castiglione. Eli raved about his favorite drink at the popular coffee shop, which is in fact a Regular Iced Coffee. He also talked about his Giants, and how things are looking up this season, while also adding some humor to the session, sharing some memories of he and Peyton growing up in a football family.

As the clock struck 11:45am, Eli told the fans that it was time for everyone to head out to the field to play some catch and train like a Giants player. Once the announcement was made, Eli ran out of the auditorium straight to the field, and the winners shortly followed. To the fans surprise, walking down the hallways of the building had a great view of their favorite players lifting weights and working hard for the big game on Sunday in the team gym.

As fans entered the indoor field house, the winners of the Dunkin’ Donuts Promotion were astounded to find drills all set up across the field, including a blow-up Victor Cruz  throwing target, a field goal station for the opportunity to kick the game-winning score, and stood-up dummies for an elusive running back drill; not to mention the Eli Manning Wide Receiver drill on the 10-yard line for the Quarterback to throw a touchdown to the lucky fans.

While the winners had the incredible opportunity to come to Quest Diagnostics Training Center to play catch with the Giants Great, they were also given the opportunity to shake hands and take a picture with Eli. Fans and Franchisees together stood in line on the field to take personal pictures with their favorite  player, which to every Giants fan is the opportunity of a lifetime

Eli Manning wrapped up the event by thanking the fans for their continued support of him and the New York Giants, and thanked Dunkin’ Donuts for the incredible partnership.

This event was a resounding success, as all parties involved had a great time playing with Eli Manning. Many fans dream’s became true, and it was truly an event of a lifetime. From walking the facilities that only players and staff are allowed access, to listening to Eli Manning answer personal questions and catching a ball from their idol, Dunkin’ Donuts really did a spectacular job with the Promotion, and the lucky winners will surely never forget this remarkable day.

It was also an incredible experience for myself, as I was given the opportunity from the Giants organization to tour the facility and meet some great personnel, fans, and players, while helping cover this outstanding event. Eli Manning is a real class act, and should be commended for his genuine love for the Giants organization and real down-to-earth personality. Eli told the fans on Tuesday Morning about his parents view on the success of the Manning brothers. “They’d rather us be a good person than a good football player.” Well, Giants fans, we’re lucky that he isn’t just one.
