If I where representing Eli Manning I’d strongly suggest that Eli take some time at the end of the season and have a nice candlelite dinner with his wife Abby. Find a nice restaurant and relax before – popping the question… Abby, I’ve been thinking, in order to get back to the playoffs we might have to move to another team and another city… kind of like Peyton did!

Watching Eli standing alone on the sidelines last week against the San Diego Chargers made me nauseous. No player or coach in the NFL will get the New York Giants back to the playoffs like Eli Manning will. But this sad season totally rests at the feet of Reese, Coughlin and Mara, not Eli! Letting Martellus Bennett go, loosing interest in the O-line by not protecting your franchise player with the best players available was unacceptable. Every year it seems Eli has to adjust to a new set of receivers. And how about the offensive scheme that the Giants continue to run after ten years that resembles a Manatee moving on dry land!

However, nothing was more obvious about the lack of focus of the Giant Big’s then drafting Ryan Nessib a well thought of quarterback on the fourth round when they could have gone for another O-Linemen. And then stand at the podium and say that they hope they never have to play him. And why would you release David Carr if you wanted to make Eli as effective as he could be?

The Giant management should go back and watch the championship game in San Francisco a couple years back and how Eli carried his team and his franchise. Perhaps, the greatest game of his career as a Giant!

If I’m the person waiting on Eli and Abby I’d buy them a glass of wine – on him…because unless the Giants management and coaches remember that building around Eli is the best and only way to get back to the playoffs, they may eventually leave for another playoff run in some other town!

Book-it Dano!

I would agree with the critical assessment of Reese his staff, Coughlin and his staff and ownership. From day one of this disaster of a season I have been on Reese and Coughlin. However, I do not believe Eli is without fault as well for how this season has played out. We can hope that next season with better tools around him that Eli can bounce back. What’s concerning to me is that it now might appear that Eli is a ‘complementary’ QB and player and no longer in or close to the elite category that can win the game or carry the team. He now appears to need a strong supporting cast around him to get the job done. I suppose all the top teams and top QB’s are in such a position because of strong supporting casts, it just seems like Eli’s old ‘gunslinger’ days just never happened in either a win or a loss. I believe the Giants must protect themselves and as hard as it is to find such a player or fill such a position, going into 2014 the G-Men need to find or develop a viable backup QB, just in case.
