An Open letter to Ben McAdoo. Giants new Offensive Coordinator!

My opinion; well Ben the NFL season is now officially over and a new one has officially begun. This is a welcoming letter from 500, 000 New York Giant fans in the Metro area who are as loyal and passionate about their Giant football as the Packer fans up in Green Bay.

Here’s what we are hoping for this coming season; enough bashing Kevin Gilbride. Without his play calling we don’t win two Super Bowls in four years. But his offense finally cam crashing down this year do to a tired old game plan and disinterested players. We can’t remember the last time the Giants offense took the ball on the 20-yard line and marched it down field without having to kick a field goal to score.

The O-line: We like mauling and brawling linemen here in NY, NJ and Conn. Nasty-smash-mouth football players instead of finesse tippietoer’s. Give us five Richie Seuberts and we’ll show you the way back to the playoffs. Push JR hard for some extra big youngin’s in the next draft who like kicking arse and take names!

Receivers: My high school coach may he rest in piece would have gone nuts watching Eli being pressured on almost every down this season and no receiver coming back for the ball to help him out. Victor Cruz called it a disconnect – we call it shameful. This season there were at least three interceptions where D-backs out fought our receiver for the ball. That is basic football so we expect you will be going back to basics-day one. Discovering Jerrel Jernigan was great for the offense but not using Louis Murphy the way he was intend was disappointing. Louis Murphy skill set is flat out speed and we never used him in that way. How come?

Tight End: This is your time to push JR for a big young dynamic tight end in the draft, something the Giants have been trying to find since Mark Bavaro retired and then let Martellous Bennett leave. You are probably also going to need another receiver who can go over the middle and not just score on fly patterns. We all long for a fast moving offense with lots of scoring! Up Temp-West Coast, feels mighty good to us.

The Run Game: Get a big young power back in the draft and run him down hill then run him down hill some more. Look at Jones Drew, he’s sill got some gas and he is a bowling ball who seem to have success running behind – well, maulers and brawlers. Save Andre Brown for the red/green zone where he is exceptional and lets say our prayers that David Wilson returns full strength. And please develop a set of plays using him like you did with Randle Cobb in Green Bay instead of running him into the 3 and 2 holes. And one last thing about David Wilson, don’t sit him down if he fumbles but help him through the tough times. The worst piece of coaching we’ve ever seen was sending David Wilson to Siberia for two years. Also David Wilson has sprinter speed as well. Do we hear fly pattern?

And what about Eli: He will rebound this year but just make sure that everyone around him as fundamentally ready to play as he will be. You don’t have to worry about the guy just get him into a big game and watch what he’s made of…yes we love Easy-Elite-Eli here and he will rebound.

For now we’ll call the new offense the “Ben Mc Attack!”

Good luck – and Go Giants.

Book it Dano!
