Giants Gab Exclusive Interview with Quintin Demps

On March 27th, in representation of Giants Gab, I had the chance to conduct an exclusive interview with newly-signed KR/FS Quintin Demps, thanks in part by the PowerHouse Agency. As an addition to the New York Giants this offseason, Demps will come into a seemingly brand new defense with an improved backfield that now features Cornerback’s Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Walter Thurmond.

While certainly a great addition as Free Safety, Demps also provides a new spark on kick return, which needless to say struggled throughout the 2013 campaign. He will join fellow new-comer Trindon Holliday in that aspect of the game to make a “two-headed monster” on special teams.

Aside from his play on the field, Demps is also involved in the music industry as an artist, something certainly not every professional athlete can say.

Below you will find the Exclusive Interview with Giants Gab’s Christian Nelson.

Christian Nelson: So, why the New York Giants?

Quintin Demps: The New York Giants because I wanted to go to an organization where I felt like we were going to win next year. I didn’t want to go to an organization that I felt was rebuilding. I believe that the New York Giants are in the hunt for the Super Bowl next year.

CN: Were there any other teams you were considering this offseason?

QD: Yeah I had a couple other offers, but the Giants were the team I picked.

CN: What do you bring to the table, on and off the field, to the New York Giants organization?

QD: I’m guy of high character. On the field I’m a play maker and I bring leadership ability on and off the field as well.

CN: Are there any players that you have met up with yet on the Giants?

QD: Yeah. Me, Cromartie, and Thurmond were all on the trip together.

CN: Have you met with any players that have helped you in your understanding of the culture of the Giants?

QD: We were all Free Agents. We haven’t played for the Giants before, so no I haven’t. I don’t know anybody that’s currently on the Giants roster.

CN: What do you expect from the revamped secondary this upcoming season?

QD: I expect to be the number one secondary in the league. I expect great competition all across the board and just for us to jell and help our team win some ball games.

CN: How did you come to venture into the music industry?

QD: I grew up very passionate about music, it’s just something that I’m passionate about. It’s something I did, I can’t say before football but before I thought about the NFL. It’s something I’m hoping to transition into after the game is over.

CN: Will you continue making music during the regular season?

QD: Yeah absolutely not. Music definitely takes a back burner during the season as far as recording. I always write in my down time, so I’m going to continue writing. But as far as when it’s the season, it’s the season, so I’m going to focus on that.

CN: Would you like to make any predications for the Giants this season?

QD: Just to win ball games. We’ll see.
