The Zorn Report

Here are some highlights from comments made this morning by Jim Zorn of the Redskins while talking about preparing for the season opener against the Giants: How has Andre Woodson helped your team this week? (laugh) He is kind of running the scout team, obviously, and I think that is probably the way that he […]

Re-Living “The Dream”

Look – I’m not a huge proponent of using preseason statistics to prove anybody’s worth, particularly for a team like the Giants where individual efforts are overshadowed by the mantra of “One team, one goal.” However, one significant stat hidden away here by Jeremy Fuchs should dispel the notion that the Giants lack a deep […]

Chiefs Cut Amani Toomer:

The Kansas City Chiefs have released Amani Toomer, ending the veteran receiver’s short-lived stint with the team. Toomer signed with Kansas City on Aug. 4 after spending his first 13 seasons with the Giants. He never made much of an impact, spending most of the preseason working with the second and third teams.

An Optimist’s View of the Giants-Jets Pre-season Game.

That’s it. I’m done being a Giants fan. This season is wasted. I’m rooting for the Cowboys this season. Jerry Reese is not a genius, he’s an idiot. Tom Coughlin can’t coach. Eli Manning isn’t worth 1 million let alone the other 99+ million the Giants owe him. That’s all you’re hearing from Giants fans, […]

Matt Mosley Chat Transcript:

Matt Mosley of ESPN.COM chatted today.  Here are all the Giant related questions. What’s shaking, Matt? I’m concerned that the much-lauded Giants D-line depth is already falling apart. What are the chances that everyone (aside from poor Jay Alford) gets healthy by Week 2 or 3? Also – I can’t believe I’m asking this, but […]

Moss Finally Figures Into Giants Plans:

From Ralph Vacchiano: The Giants‘ defensive players were raving about receiver Sinorice Moss in the spring, how fast he was and how difficult he was to cover. They never told him that, of course. “No, but they tell me to slow down half the time I talk to them,” Moss said. “But I can’t do […]

Toomer Is A Kansas City Chief:

From Ralph Vacchiano Former Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer has finally found a new home. The 34-year-old owner of many of the Giants’ receiving records signed today with the Kansas City Chiefs. That means he’ll get a shot at his old teammates in Week 4, when the Giants visit Kansas City on Oct. 4. Toomer […]

Morning Practice Reports

Another practice…another batch of reports: Star Ledger- Mike Garafolo NY Post- Paul Schwartz Bergen Record- Vinny DiTrani Daily News- Ralph Vacchiano Big Blue View- Ed Valentine Tom Coughlin The recurring theme with these practice reports is that Steve Smith and the receivers did not look sharp. Let me put you at ease: It’s the third […]

Da Eagles are Overrated, I think.

I see a lot of publications or blogs out there that think the Eagles are the cream of the crop in the National Football League, while simultaneously they are ripping on the Giants. (There are admittedly, a lot of places that like the Giants very much as well), but to those sites or publications that […]

GiantsGab Training Camp Preview

Training camp starts Monday, and all we can say is Thank God. After all, it’s been too long since football has really been in full gear. The Giants don’t have too many position battles—a good thing. However, there are some things to watch for at this training camp. Wide Receivers: We’ve written ad nauseam about […]
